What Types of Dentures Do We Offer?

Dentures are classified by the number of teeth they replace and the way they are held in the mouth. They can be Conventional or Immediate Full Dentures. Conventional full dentures are used to replace all the teeth in the upper or lower jaw, and partial dentures are used when the patient still has some of their natural teeth.

Complete Dentures

Conventional or complete dentures fit directly over the gums in the mouth. Conventional dentures are a good choice for those who cannot undergo dental implant surgery due to poor healing, diabetes, due to cost, or an autoimmune condition.

Partial Dentures

Partial dentures replace just some of the teeth. Every partial denture is different, and if you lose additional teeth after having your partial denture made, your dentist can often alter the denture to add new false teeth as needed.

Partial dentures

Immediate Dentures

An immediate denture is placed immediately after the teeth extraction if a patient does not want to wait until the full denture arrives. It will not function or feel like a denture placed over healed oral tissue, but it provides some function and immediate esthetics for the patient.

Implant dentures

Implant-supported Dentures

Implant-supported dentures have several advantages. It does not move as you speak and chew, and you do not need to use glue or cement to hold it in place. Implant-supported dentures often look and feel more natural on the mouth than conventional dentures.

Denture Relines

Although your new denture will fit your mouth properly, over time, the tissue growth in the gums change. As a result, the denture becomes loose and moves inside your mouth. You need a reliner over the denture to keep it secure and functional.

Soft Reliner. Some patients are uncomfortable wearing ordinary dentures due to tender gums, sore spots, or sharp bony areas. In this case, your dentist may recommend lining the denture with a soft material (soft reliner) to provide relief. Soft liners can also be used when creating new dentures or retrofitted into existing dentures.

Temporary Reliner. If you do not receive the denture in time, your gums may become inflamed, swollen, or misshapen. This creates problems in taking impressions for a new hard or soft reline and may lead to complications. In this case, your dentist may recommend a temporary or medicated reline material that reduces inflammation. After a few weeks, the gums return to a more normal state and you will be ready for new denture.
